But you are the cure

You suppose that you are the lock on the door

But you are the key that opens it

It’s too bad that you want to be someone else

You don’t see your own face, your own beauty

Yet, no face is more beautiful than yours.     ~ J. Rumi 13th-Century

Sometimes we just have to reclaim our power, and own it.  When life feels like it’s getting away from us, and obstacles seem insurmountable, it’s easy to feel like any and everything is much bigger, and more important than we are. Sometimes we relinquish our power so easily and then we feel helpless, or become the martyr, or victim. Power is ours to create, and maintain, but it’s an easy concept to forget. In difficult moments we give our power away, practically hand it over, we and don’t realize we’ve lost it until the thief is long gone with the most important piece of ourselves. Just remember we can snatch it back, and repossess it.
